Living better, spending less.
I am loving the Sunday morning shopping. Things are actually in stock! Except for St. Ives, free/moneymaker after Register Rewards. That one was too much to hope for. I have also met the same couponer every morning for the three weeks I’ve been doing this. For the last two weeks, I have been unable to [...]
I took a break from camping and ran out to do a little shopping this afternoon. It was pretty nice–left the baby with my parents and so I had two baby-free shopping trips in one week! Fantastic. That’s CVS in the top left, Walgreens in the top right and Rite Aid at the bottom. CVS [...]
Today’s Sunday morning shopping trip didn’t work out quite as nicely as it did last week. I was running late all morning long, and didn’t get home until it was past time for Evie’s nap. But of course, it all worked out. First, I went to Walgreens. The Walgreens sales this week are pretty sad, [...]
I think people usually are confused about how I know about all these deals, or how I can put all of it together from a weekly ad. The truth is, I can’t. Shopping for the best bargains takes a little research time. How much time it takes depends on how serious about it you get. [...]
My mom came down yesterday to visit with us, and we had a very busy afternoon. We went to Pizza Hut (which was funded on my part from a giftcard purchased with Walgreens Register Rewards, and for which we used a coupon to save $4!) and then to look at some campgrounds and while we [...]
Yeah, I was not going back to Walgreens this week. Except, my child was driving me batty. I mean, I love her more than I love my next breath but what’s with the whining this week? So, we jumped in the car to go shopping. Woulda gone to CVS but it was already after five [...]
I had SO MUCH FUN this morning. Evelyn woke us up way too early and both M and I were beyond sleepy, but I finally dragged myself out of bed to attend to the super-awake baby that wasn’t happy snuggling in bed with us any longer. I dressed and fed us both and cleaned the [...]
I drove to the next town over this afternoon to have lunch with my husband, and also, go to CVS. I had $14.89 in ECBs that expired last week. I had been planning on using them, but I ran out of time on Thursday, and I didn’t have a car on Friday since M’s was [...]
I had so much fun yesterday! I wasn’t feeling the love for shopping much last week so I only made the one trip to Walgreens. But we found ourselves with a few hours to kill before leaving town yesterday, so I volunteered to go grocery shopping while M and Evie stayed home. I am so [...]
My Walgreens makes me a little sad, because the items I want are often not in stock. That’s especially bad now that they’re moving to more of a Register Rewards model… no rainchecks on this stuff! But, they are nice to me there so I shouldn’t complain. Still, I did alright. Not free, but a [...]
When I became a stay-at-home-mom, I promised I could save our family money by shopping sales and maybe even using a few coupons. I had no idea what I was getting into. These days, I am on a first-name basis with the cashiers at the local drugstores, I haven't paid for toothpaste or shampoo in over a year and I spend my free time here, helping others do the same. So please, make yourself at home while you learn how to save, and when to spend!
