Shopping, eating, family and fun.

In: Life

We have three days left here in Stockholm and we’re trying to figure out what exactly we want to do with them. We’ve done a lot of shopping, we’ve done some touristing, but we have sort of decided against going to see Vasa tomorrow due to lack of supreme interest. Everyone has seen it except [...]

Monday

In: Life

It is way past the time that we should be in bed, but I had too much coffee after dinner and feel absolutely no urge to go to sleep. I am a social [coffee) drinker, it turns out. I never drink coffee at home but I've had some every day here. I guess it's better [...]

Another day, another post

In: Life

My child is ”doing Arts & Crafts”… her words, not mine. What she is actually doing is trying to put off going to bed for a little bit longer. She slept late this morning, as did we, so no one is nagging yet. I am glad to report that she has taken up quite well [...]

Still in Sweden

In: Life

I wrote this on Tuesday but have had Internet problems ever since, so I am only able to post it now. Now that I have my rant about Continental out of the way, I thought I should move on to the fun parts. :) We have been having a great time so far, although we [...]

Have you ever been sitting on a plane, ages past boarding, and you’re waiting for the thing to actually move, and then suddenly someone bursts onto the plane looking disheveled and anxious, and you think smugly to yourself that these people should really plan better so that they don’t show up at the airport so [...]

I should be filing coupons but I am bored with the whole idea so I am taking a little break to write about this because I was SO EXCITED about it.  It doesn’t take much to make me happy. We live about an hour and forty minutes away from the airport we are flying out [...]

It took me all week and at least five different Walgreens (and this town only has two!) last week but I used up my remaining Bayer Contour meter coupons. They expired on Friday and I had eighteen of them left.  I had purchased something like 120 of them when they first came out, in anticipation [...]

CVS, 4/7

In: Life, Shopping

Yesterday, I met M for lunch in the town he works in.  He works basically next door to a post office, so I am lucky in that way because he gets to handle all of our postal concerns.  Evelyn needs a passport, and minors must appear with both parents, or they must have a signed [...]

Income Challenge

In: Frugal, Life

I mentioned yesterday that we booked a trip to Sweden.  We’ll be leaving June 27, so I have a little less than three months before we depart.  Because of that… I have decided that it’d be fun to create an Official Savings Goal. I want to create enough additional income to pay for our tickets [...]

Thinking outside the box

In: Frugal, Home, Life

I used two $5/$20 at Rite Aid yesterday, plus a coupon for a free Bayer Contour (to get my total up over $20) to purchase two brand new books by two of my favorite authors for $3.17 each.   I paid with a $25 gift card that I got for free. There are things other [...]

About this blog

When I became a stay-at-home-mom, I promised I could save our family money by shopping sales and maybe even using a few coupons. I had no idea what I was getting into. These days, I am on a first-name basis with the cashiers at the local drugstores, I haven't paid for toothpaste or shampoo in over a year and I spend my free time here, helping others do the same. So please, make yourself at home while you learn how to save, and when to spend!
