While on the subject of using less laundry detergent, I feel I MUST add this little ditti...I discovered many years ago that using fabric softener, (of any kind), keeps your liquid absorbing laundry from absorbing effectively. So, don't put fabric softener in your towels, wash clothes, kitchen towels, cloth diapers, etc... I also never use as much fabric softener as it calls for anyway and my clothes smell just as good, maybe better.
