Living better, spending less.
I haven’t much felt like getting out this week, but I did meet my couponing friend this morning for a stroll through a park and then to Walgreens. Because really, what trip isn’t complete without stopping in at Walgreens?![]()
OOP: $29.71 (4.83, 11.86, 6.51, 6.51)
RR spent: $12 (4, 4, 4)
Total OOP: $41.71
RR received: $44 (6, 4, 5, 3, 3, 4, 5, 3, 4, 3, 4)
Total Cost: $2.29 profit
I love Walgreens.
In the interest of full disclosure, I don’t post every single shopping trip. I just can’t keep up with it. Sometimes I even take the pictures and never post them… actually, I didn’t post the pictures from Sunday morning, either.
OOP: $52.76 (22.77, 7.32, 10.88, 11.79)
RR spent: $0
Total OOP: $52.76
RR received: $56 (5, 4, 6, 3, 4, 4, 4, 6, 6, 4, 6, 4)
Total Cost: $3.24 profit
I went back on Monday night and bought some pretty similar items, but I didn’t even take pictures of it, though I can do some math on my receipts real quick and see that I ended up at $1.74 profit in total, making my weekly profit at Walgreens $7.27…
…which pretty much just covers the McDonald’s that we picked up on our way home. :)
(The overage mainly comes from using coupons, such as $1 on Colgate, on items that are free after RR. I paid $2 after coupon and received $3. It builds up!)
When I became a stay-at-home-mom, I promised I could save our family money by shopping sales and maybe even using a few coupons. I had no idea what I was getting into. These days, I am on a first-name basis with the cashiers at the local drugstores, I haven't paid for toothpaste or shampoo in over a year and I spend my free time here, helping others do the same. So please, make yourself at home while you learn how to save, and when to spend!
