Living better, spending less.

Not too long ago, we were at Walmart and my husband said, “Hey, look, mac and cheese is fifty cents a box again. We should buy some.” And, I was sad because has he not learned anything about me yet? ;) You don’t buy something on sale if you can buy it on sale with a coupon! And better yet, with a coupon and with some sort of special promotion!
So, naturally, I was excited when I saw Coupon Mommie’s post about Kraft macaroni and cheese for eleven cents a box at Kroger. By combining a sale with a Catalina coupon (the ones printed at the register when you buy particular products), they work out to a very good price.
It works like this:
Buy 6 boxes (7.25 oz boxes) at $.53 each.
Use 1 Buy 3 Get 1 Free coupon (6/28 Smartsource, or printable)
Pay $2.65
Get back $2 catalina for use on your next purchase.
Total Cost: $2.65-$2=$.65 / 6 = $.11 cents per box
(If you don’t have the coupon, it’s still a really good deal at $.20 each.)
If you don’t buy these in transaction of six each, you’ll pay more, so make sure you stick to six only. If you buy four, you get a $1 coupon and if you buy five, you get $1.50. If you buy more than six, you still get $2.
Deal ends 7/26, so don’t waste too much time.
When I became a stay-at-home-mom, I promised I could save our family money by shopping sales and maybe even using a few coupons. I had no idea what I was getting into. These days, I am on a first-name basis with the cashiers at the local drugstores, I haven't paid for toothpaste or shampoo in over a year and I spend my free time here, helping others do the same. So please, make yourself at home while you learn how to save, and when to spend!
