We headed into the city (45 minute drive) to do a little light shopping this afternoon, so I finally got to do a small Target run on a good week.  It was fun!  Actually, M took Evelyn to PetSmart to look at “kittycatdog”, so I was able to do this one alone too.  Do I emphasize that too much, how lovely it is to shop without a small child attached to my person?

100_9956 That would be three Pull-ups, nine Buddies soaps, ten Nexcare waterproof travel-sized bandages, two bags of chips, one salsa, one 10-ct Hello Kitty BandAids, two travel Coppertone sunscreens and not pictured due to laziness: 5 12-packs of Pepsi, which were $1.75 each after Target printable coupon.

I did this in two transactions.  The first one was just the Pull-Ups.  It came to $17.29 and I got a $5 Target gift card.  Could have done it all at once but I didn’t want to drag a gift card home with me since I don’t make it to Target regularly.  I had received a $5 coupon in the mail recently that expires soon and I was dying to use it, so this was a good place for that.  Anyway, I used the gift card in the second transaction and my final payment for that was $7.83.  That makes a total of $25.12 for everything you see above. I’ll submit the Pull-Ups receipt for the Caregivers Marketplace rebate, which makes it actually $22.87.  Considering that the regular sale price for just the Pepsi is $2.50×5=12.50, and the decent sale price of 8.99 for the three Pull-ups would make just those $27… that’s pretty good. I was definitely satisfied. I was also happy because my Walmart doesn’t carry the Buddies soap anymore, so I’ve been carrying around three coupons for ages, trying to figure out where to use them.

When we got back to town, I dropped M and Evie off at Walmart and ran off to do a couple of errands. I stopped at Kroger, where the cashier was really shocked at my total.  She kept saying (in amusement) that I had “cheated”. It actually was a pretty good run, since I had done the real grocery shopping earlier in the week and was just there to pick up a couple of things.

100_9957 That’s twelve 40-count Huggies wipes, three 24-ounce Dawn Essentials detergent and one Spray and Wash stain stick.  Total price after coupons: $1.99.  That includes $1 in Catalinas that printed last time, so honestly, I shouldn’t count that.  Still, three dollars for all of this stuff counts as a good deal, in my book.  I have been looking for that stain stick in several different stores lately, because I ran out.  I just happened to check at Kroger since I was in that aisle already and saw them on clearance for $1.89. The coupon doubled, making it $0.89 each. I will go back soon and buy as many as I have coupons for.  That’s a pretty good deal, especially since I can’t seem to find it anywhere else lately and I like it. I’m guessing my mom might want some at that price too.

What do you do with all this stuff? I bathe and diaper my child, which takes care of much of what I bought.  I also do dishes upon occasion (rare occasion, if I have anything to say about it…)   Evelyn has a newfound fixation with putting band-aids on, and we have already had one outburst that resulted in her sporting a Disney princess on her arm this evening.  As for the pop and the chips and salsa… ummm.  I have no clue what we’ll do with junk food like that! Surely neither of us would eat it…
