Living better, spending less.
I don’t personally have a Giant Eagle store nearby, but this makes me wish that I did! You can get $15 off at Giant Eagle by watching a video on their site. The money will be taken off your next three transactions in $5 increments. Not a bad return on the time it takes to watch a video, if you ask me! Then! There is also supposed to be a $2 video here. Enter your zip code and view your weekly ad. If you find it, then–$17 in free groceries!) You probably want to do this as soon as possible because it could be pulled at any time. You never know with deals like this.
(You should be able to split your next grocery trip into three transactions and get them all the next time you’re there, if you’re so inclined. I don’t see why that wouldn’t work, anyway.)
Before you head out to spend your free cash, you might be interested in seeing what’s on sale this week. Stretching a Buck has the weekly deals here.
And since you’re going already, get 25 free photo prints using the code JUNE25 at checkout. (Valid through 6/30/09. One wonders why they chose JUNE25 as the code, since it is neither the beginning nor end of the promotional period..? But let’s not look a gift horse in the mouth here.)
Thanks to Stretching a Buck for this one.
[This post brought to you by the wonders of being stuck on hold with customer service. Today’s tip: put your phone on speaker and lay it down while you’re on hold. Then you have both hands free to do something–ANYTHING–more entertaining than listening to elevator music. Also, I scored $20 worth of free postage from stamps.com from my time on hold writing this post, so I guess we both win! Unless you don’t have a Giant Eagle either. Then I guess you don’t win. Sorry.
Here, have a gratuitous cute picture of my kid to make you feel better.)

When I became a stay-at-home-mom, I promised I could save our family money by shopping sales and maybe even using a few coupons. I had no idea what I was getting into. These days, I am on a first-name basis with the cashiers at the local drugstores, I haven't paid for toothpaste or shampoo in over a year and I spend my free time here, helping others do the same. So please, make yourself at home while you learn how to save, and when to spend!
