Living better, spending less.
I took a break from camping and ran out to do a little shopping this afternoon. It was pretty nice–left the baby with my parents and so I had two baby-free shopping trips in one week! Fantastic.

That’s CVS in the top left, Walgreens in the top right and Rite Aid at the bottom.
I did the Pampers deal again at CVS. The ECBs didn’t print automatically (of course) but she mentioned it before I even had a chance to pretend to look at the receipt, and she printed them manually for me. So…
OOP: 1.15
ECT spent: 19.00 (4, 15)
Total Spent: 20.15
ECB Received: 15

This was two transactions in order to use a $5/$25 coupon twice. These were improvised transactions—they were out of what I was going to buy (Snuggle fabric softener.) Eh, I’ve done better work. The monitor is a mail-in-rebate item, which is sort of a pain but I wanted to use the $5 coupon again. Not pictured is two premium Walgreens brand ice creams. Left those partially eaten at the campground!
OOP: $35.95 on gift card
RR spent: $0
Total Spent: $35.95
RR Received: $7 (3, 1, 3)
Mail-in Rebate: $19.99

Like I said, not my best work, but still, that’s a lot of stuff for nine dollars.
OOP: $16.86
SCR Earned: $17.99
Total Cost: $1.13 profit

When I became a stay-at-home-mom, I promised I could save our family money by shopping sales and maybe even using a few coupons. I had no idea what I was getting into. These days, I am on a first-name basis with the cashiers at the local drugstores, I haven't paid for toothpaste or shampoo in over a year and I spend my free time here, helping others do the same. So please, make yourself at home while you learn how to save, and when to spend!
