Today’s Sunday morning shopping trip didn’t work out quite as nicely as it did last week.  I was running late all morning long, and didn’t get home until it was past time for Evie’s nap. But of course, it all worked out.

First, I went to Walgreens. The Walgreens sales this week are pretty sad, but I ran in to pick up some fabric softener for my mom. Unfortunately, I had to pay my karmic dues and wait in line behind another coupon shopper.  I had a really simple, easy single transaction and I was soo tempted to just go to the regular register, but I didn’t want to irritate my beauty advisor cashier.  She likes to see her couponers come in.

I paid $12.23 out of pocket and received a $5 RR, so the above cost $7.23.  In truth, it cost $0.95, because only the tomato sauce was mine.  Did I need more tomato sauce? Heck no.  But last time I bought them as fillers on sale for $.39, I got a $1/4 coupon.  So, at .14 each, I figured I should buy more since they’re on sale again.  She accidentally rang up five, though, so I just went and grabbed the fifth one rather than bother returning it.  That made them $0.19 each.. still a pretty good price!

100_9834This was three transactions, using two cards.  The total cost for the above was $10.97.  The Charmin I bought for my parents.  (I was out shopping for them this morning, I guess!) so my own personal cost will be somewhere around four dollars. Three packages of Pampers! Two razors! Five face cleansers!  I had a $5/$30 (emailed to me), a $4/20, and a $5/20.  My mom’s card spits out those coupons like crazy but my own almost never gets them. I’m thinking about retiring it and signing up for a new one.

There are two boxes of menopausal supplements. They were on clearance for 90% off, 1.29. They had $2 peelies on them. No overage granted, of course, but I love it when that happens.  If it’s free and doesn’t cause me any extra work preparing–I’m all over it.

What do you do with all this stuff? Yard sale, mostly.  I was excited about the face cleanser wipes, actually.  I love having those to take my makeup off with, but it was one of the first things I gave up when I started trying to save money on frivolous stuff.  Since I got into couponing, I have been able to have them back!  I was on my last pack, though, so I’ve been on the lookout for a decent deal. This qualified. :)  So, those are for me, as is the tomato sauce, and the fabric softener and toilet paper is for my parents, but the rest is fair game.
