Living better, spending less.
I am actually writing this on Sunday afternoon while M is at the store with Evelyn, though I will schedule it to post tomorrow. It is so nice to have a little time to myself upon occasion! That has been especially rare in the last few weeks, for one reason or another, so I am really appreciating the peace and quiet. I was doing other things, but then I realized that it would really make sense to make the meal plan while I could still call him and tell him to pick up any stray ingredients we’re missing.
Monday: ziti with roasted veggies (Evelyn LOVES this pasta and she doesn’t eat very well, so I make it pretty often)
Tuesday: red potatoes (boiled and then halved and browned in butter with rosemary and shallots), other vegetables as the whim strikes, but possibly corn on the cob
Wednesday: beef burritos
Thursday: fettucini alfredo with either spinach or broccoli (I forgot to buy cream last week, so we didn’t make it after all)
Friday: baked potatoes with onions and mushrooms and cheese
When I became a stay-at-home-mom, I promised I could save our family money by shopping sales and maybe even using a few coupons. I had no idea what I was getting into. These days, I am on a first-name basis with the cashiers at the local drugstores, I haven't paid for toothpaste or shampoo in over a year and I spend my free time here, helping others do the same. So please, make yourself at home while you learn how to save, and when to spend!
